It is clear that my video is liked by my target audience as all of the twenty people who did my survey said that I used appropriate shots. I think this is because I had many close ups to really represent my star and allow them to understand her character. Also I think it's important that my target audience liked my shots and felt that they were fitting for the narrative.
Again, the majority of people felt that I had enough locations in order for the narrative to make sense and only three people disagreed . I feel I have used enough locations, as if I added many more it would make it too complex to film and hard for the audience to understand, as music videos are a lot shorter than movies, so it needs to be clear, and having only a few locations helps to achieve this.
The majority of people here said that my narrative was easy to follow, however three did get a little confused. I think this is because it is not that clear, as music videos often suggest things rather than tell them, and it may also be because there are a lot of different locations, therefore I may think about making some things more obvious and using less locations in order to make meaning clearer in my actual video.
I think I established the meaning of the lyrics well with the song, which is why most people agreed that they match, as although she is being creepy and stalker-like, it is still very clear that she likes this guy through the eyeline matches. The audience did pick up on this, however two didn't, but I think thats because the story is quite complex so they may have got confused.
The majority felt that there were enough close up shots of my artist in the video whith is good, however again two people didn't think so and one skipped the question. Looking back through my storyboard, I have quite a few close mid shots, but not that many close ups of my artist, therefore when actually making my video Iwill try to include some more as I think its important for the audience to be close to the artist.
All the people liked my music video which means I achieved what I wanted with it. It's clear that people enjoyed it and found it funny, and this is what I was aiming for as I want to represent my artist as fun and not too serious, and that came across to the audience.
Practically everyone agreed that my editing fit the pace of the song which is good as the song is quite fast and catchy, so I think its quite important to have quick cuts. Looking back through my work I can see certain bits where the editing could have been a lot quicker, because although it fit in with the pace of the song, I could have done more with it to make it look more dynamic. So I will try doing this in my first cut.
Looking over the responses, everyone had the right idea of what music genre this video was for, which is good. However they did only get one of the genres as the music is kind of indie and folk, so in our real video I think we should show this through costumes and props. For example we could add an acoustic guitar to give it a more indie/folk feel to it.
As you can see, most people did get a few intertextual references from the video, and the majority got one of the main two which is good. Only about four people in total didn't spot any, which is good as they were not overly obvious. However I feel as if I didnt include that many, so when filming my real one I may look into other stalker movies and use small intertextual references from them in order to really create this funny stalker storyline and make it more clear to the audience.
